Canterbury Park announced that, with Minnesota's state government shutdown now ended, live horse racing would resume Thursday evening.The horse racing track had been forced to close because the state's racing commission, which regulates the track, had been part of the state government shutdown that began July 1. A Canterbury Park spokesman said the track's card casino, featuring poker tables and other gaming, would open at 10 a.m. on Thursday morning.Gov. Mark Dayton signed legislation Wednesday morning ending the 20-day shutdown after the Legislature approved the measures in a special session that ended earlier in the day."[Our] boss has been in contact with the racing commission," said Jeff Maday, a Canterbury Park spokesman. "The racing commission will be in place and ready to regulate us tomorrow morning."
