Veteran rock hero Todd Rundgren, who performed Tuesday at the State Theatre in Minneapolis, knows his way around Woodstock. After all, he lived there and operated a recording studio there for many years. He also performed at the second festival, Woodstock '94. So he viewed the new film "Taking Woodstock" from a different perspective.

"I highly recommend it. It's an excellent movie. It's about how the Woodstock concert was actually mounted; it's the complete opposite of the 'Woodstock' concert film. It's more about the times, the whole milieu that Woodstock took place in, including the [Vietnam] war, the hippie movement, acid and all of those things. It's a real loving tribute to the times. It does make you nostalgic. All we have to do is put our two fingers up, and we'll have peace. Demetri Martin, who used to be a correspondent on 'The Daily Show,' is pretty much the lead actor, and he does an estimable job in his first major film."
