Cameo critic: Dweezil Zappa

Former MTV VJ and Food Network host Dweezil Zappa also has made a name for himself making music. The guitarist's main gig is leading Zappa Plays Zappa (music by his late father, Frank Zappa), which will perform Friday with Dream Theater in Minneapolis at the Orpheum. Dweezil insists on passing along the family musical tradition to his two young daughters.

"Zola [age 3] and Ceylon [age 1] both really enjoy music. My wife, Lauren, recently got a CD that our girls are now constantly requesting. The music comes from various artists from Africa. It's called 'Putumayo Kids Presents African Playground.' I appreciate the fact that the music has great rhythmic and melodic ideas, a sonic sense of a world different from our own and no princesses or purple dinosaurs."
