Calling all twisted sisters, brothers

Break out the tube socks and start stretching, because Intermedia Arts wants participants for a marathon game of Twister. Rub up against skaters from the Minnesota RollerGirls and dancers from ARENA Dances and the Collective, a local hip-hop company. For a $35 pledge, individuals can join in or just watch. The event is part of the art center's Valentine's fundraiser, which includes a silent auction, graffiti Valentines, a kissing booth, hair-styling, live music, DJs, wine and chocolate. Local acts Quilombolas, Mighty Fairly, Marvelle and Foxy Tann will perform, and local artists Ibé, Isis, Teatro del Pueblo and Heiruspecs will entertain with spoken word, theater and music.

Abandon Your Threads: U Senior Fashion Show

Before "Project Runway," there was fashion design school. While it's no Parsons, the University of Minnesota's fashion design program is known as the best in the state. Its soon-to-be-graduates are showing their work at the 40th annual Senior Fashion Show, complete with a runway, models and music. Senior fashion design student Kate Troutman's line is inspired by biodiversity -- right on trend for spring -- and the more technical concept of growth adjustment. Troutman has gained industry experience as an event coordinator and stylist for local fashion shows including DIVA, and most recently as an intern for DIVA designer Joynoelle. (5 & 8 p.m. Sat., McNamara Alumni Center, University of Minnesota, 200 SE. Oak St.,Mpls., $20-30, 612-626-4476, www.umnseniorfashion.com.)
