A cab driver ran a stop sign Monday morning and struck a school bus in St. Cloud, sending the larger vehicle veering into a duplex and injuring several children on the bus and in the taxi, authorities said.

The crash happened shortly before 7:30 a.m. at Lincoln and 15th Avenues SE. as the bus was heading to Talahi Elementary School, according to police. The bus rolled over railroad tracks and into the building about 50 yards from the intersection.

Police said the injuries to both drivers and numerous children were not considered serious. Two children in the cab, three of the 15 or so children on the bus and the bus driver were taken to St. Cloud Hospital, police said.

The three people in the duplex were not hurt.

The cab driver, Donald K. Fleming, of St. Cloud, was ticketed for not observing a stop sign.

Fleming's driving record in Minnesota since 2004 includes three citations for speeding and one ticket for failing to obey a semaphore.
