Serena Williams has a potential Minnesota suitor -- if she cares.

The tennis champion doesn't seem to be paying much attention to Anthony Polski, though he was paying a lot of attention to her, in a People magazine photo from the wedding reception of Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian.

"Serena Williams grooved with groomsman Anthony Polski," reads the charitable caption on page 73 of the issue with Kardashian on the cover. With a rapt expression on his face and his right hand almost in Williams' armpit (a better place than it might have been), Polski appears to be making his move on the dance floor. The son of Market BBQ owner Steve Polski comes up to Williams' neck in this photo, though she's probably wearing heels.

The imagery calls to memory a ribald comment from Alabama's Big Ruby Folsom when her daughter Cornelia Snively announced plans to marry Gov. George Wallace. Big Ruby's hysterical quip is not fit for a family newspaper - but it's totally worth Googling!

I asked Anthony via text message: What is it that you think you are doing on the pages of People with Serena?

"I think I'm going to marry her," Anthony replied.

I told him he was delusional not to realize when he was in way over his head and at risk of being broken in half by someone like Serena, who is way too much woman for him.

":-) haha haha," Anthony replied.

He ignored a text asking why his "future wife" hadn't arranged for him to sit in her box at the U.S. Open, where she is working right now.

Based purely on the engrossed expression on Anthony's face -- as he looks up to Serena -- had he died after this dance the mortician would have needed a month to wipe the smile off Anthony's face.

MOG fashionWord is that Vera Wang had highly complimentary things to say about how great Debra Humphries, MOG (that's "mother of the groom") looked in the gown made for her by the fashion designer. Wang has not responded to my Wednesday request via Twitter for confirmation.

You will only get to see the dress from the midriff up in People's photo of Debra and William Humphries on page 72. The People photo spread also features a pix of the groom grabbing his bride's famously celebrated buttocks.

Does this kid have a chance?"I kind of want to enjoy my marriage for a little bit. Just enjoy each other," Kim Kardashian told ABC's "Good Morning America" on Wednesday.

Well, that's not what I've been hearing about the star of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," who had TV and makeup people with her over the weekend when she was in the metro shooting E! reality show segments with her new hubby in his neighborhood and in Uptown at Drink and Fusion.

Since the lovebirds thought their connection was fated, in part, because he's a Kris and so is her mom, Kris Jenner, it's time to break out some K-names for the babies to come.

How about Krisanthemum? Jenner should love this one because it ends with mum (that's what the English call their mothers, and Kim thinks she's a princess). But Jenner probably would like Kardamom, which like Kauliflower, Koriander, Kolander, Kaffir and Klove were inspired by looking at Humphries' abode on the pages of Mpls.StPaul magazine.

Jenner also would like Kash, as she's made millions for her family, and Kache. Then we have Klytemnestra, Karisma, Konan, Kohinoor and Kristoff. Or how about Koey, as in Zoey? Or Krim, a combo of Kris and Kim. Among the more ordinary possibilities: Kollins, Karl and Kevin.

Speaking of faithKARE11 anchor Julie Nelson will start "The Conversation" on Faith 900 AM from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday.

Nelson and the colorful Cindy Olson (who formerly worked at Minneapolis ad agency Olson, which is owned by her husband, John Olson) will be in charge of the weekly faith-related chatter. Nelson is a little concerned about how they will be received by others on the station because she is aiming for something that may not be all that churchy -- my word, not hers.

Nelson and Olson like the style of Sirius XM Radio's "Catholic Guy," Lino Rulli. Nelson told me Rulli was generous with his time when she telephoned him in New York to discuss the radio show she's doing. When the Minnesota guy was here recently promoting his book "Sinner," I accompanied him and Nelson as they scoured the State Fair looking for examples of the Seven Deadly Sins.

Computer issues that prevented my video of them at the State Fair from being posted with Sunday's column have been resolved; it's now attached to that column and this one on startribune.com.

Garnetts at the OpenBrandi Garnett does NOT look happy in a MediaTakeOut.com picture (see www.startribune.com/a650).

The website captured photos of Brandi and Kevin Garnett, who got his NBA championship ring after getting away from the Timberwolves, at the U.S. Open with their adorable little girl. Mercifully, young Kapri looks like her mommy. Scroll down to the second snap, which includes Kapri with her parents, to see the photo that would suggest Brandi either was not well or not happy.
