How hard can it be, people, to correctly recognize Kim Kardashian?

Between a rather large engagement ring and an extremely tall fiance, E!'s "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star is not difficult to identify.

There should have been no confusion Saturday night at downtown Minneapolis' Seven where fiance Kris Humphries, the Minnesota guy and NBA player for the New Jersey Nets, threw a party. Yet somebody apparently mixed up Kardashian with one of the handful of women at the restaurant who were attractive brunettes of some ethnicity with long hair, beautiful faces and shapely bodies in little dresses.

I overheard a woman, I'll call her Yuhachick, who was talking about Kardashian being at the party before she even arrived. After Yuhachick asked me to confirm that I was whom I sounded like, she reminded me of the time I wrote about a problem she had.

Yuhachick then told me that Kardashian had arrived at 9:50 p.m., for the 9 p.m. party. Kris Humphries' dad, Will Humphries, showed up about 9:08 p.m. I pressed to find out how Yuhachick knew Kardashian was upstairs. She said a girlfriend had texted her that Kardashian was already on the rooftop.

Had the girlfriend heard this or seen Kardashian?

Yuhachick was unclear.

I decided I'd stick around anyhow, even though a Seven staffer repeatedly told me Kardashian had been slipped in the back way.

Why would she suddenly get shy in Minneapolis, I wondered, since there is evidence on TMZ almost every night that this Kardashian does not avoid crowds.

Yuhachick's friend was apparently yet another poor celebrity spotter.

About 11:30 the energy on the streets outside of Seven changed. That's saying a lot as a Twins game had recently ended and there were characters, who probably weren't at the game, roaming all over.

Valets who had been accepting cars in their usual position on the 7th Street side of Seven were now on the Hennepin side. Two police officers who had been closer to the corner had shifted their position, too.

Would she be in a Maybach, a Phantom? No, just a Benz.

Up rolled Kardashian with Humphries, who was riding backseat passenger side, as Kim's first defense against the onslaught. There wasn't much of a crowd, as she walked around the back of the Mercedes and to Humphries.

He gentlemanly waited for her, taking her left hand into his right, while using his left hand to low five a guy.
