FORT MYERS, Fla. — Byron Buxton doesn't believe his outfield workout on Wednesday, in unusually hot and humid weather, is the reason he got sick immediately after. But it probably didn't help.

"I wasn't feeling too good when I got here, but I just thought I'd be all right. I had something to eat, waited about 30 minutes, and went out there," Buxton said Friday morning. "When I got back in, I started feeling nausea and it didn't go away."

Buxton says he slept all day Thursday, and woke this morning feeling healthy again. He went through the Twins' non-game workout, and was running around catching fly balls with no problem, so he figures to return to the lineup tomorrow in Bradenton, his first game action since last Sunday. Missing nearly a week isn't ideal, but manager Paul Molitor said Thursday it won't influence the Twins' upcoming decision about whether the rookie outfielder comes north with the team next month.

Though Buxton isn't back yet, the Twins do get one center fielder back from injury today. Danny Santana, who has also missed most of a week with a sore left wrist, will start in Buxton's place, batting second. Oswaldo Arcia, who played seven innings Wednesday and then got at-bats in two different games yesterday, is in the lineup again today, too, hoping to raise his .105 spring average.

Ryan Sweeney, hoping for a spot as fourth outfielder, will start in left field, and John Hicks will catch Tyler Duffey.
