Grant Thornton named Kyle Hansen audit partner. Hansen joined the firm in 2006 and serves on the board for the Northern Star Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Grant Thornton also named Tim Smith international tax partner. Smith joined the firm in 2004 and was an international tax senior manager.

AWT Labels & Packaging, Minneapolis, named Blake Insteness director of business development — healthcare. Insteness joined the company in 2011 and was business development manager — healthcare.

Xcel Energy, Minneapolis, named Ryan Bruers economic development project manager. Bruers was a field sales engineer for Xcel Energy.

Children's Hospital Association, St. Paul, named Erin Bursch executive director. Bursch previously served on the association's board and was director of corporate and foundation for Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation.

Catholic Charities of St. Paul and Minneapolis named Ryan Petersen vice president of development. Petersen was development director for Northside Achievement Zone and serves on the advisory board for Cleantech Open Midwest.

Scholarship America, Bloomington, named Andrea Smith vice president, development. Smith was managing director, major gifts for Piedmont Healthcare Foundation and worked for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

CSM, Minneapolis, named Matthew Weiner vice president of corporate strategy and business analytics. Weiner worked for CBRE and previously worked for CSM. CSM also named Julie Watkin vice president of human resources. Watkin worked for ABRA Auto Body & Glass and previously worked for CSM as vice president of human resources.

Best & Flanagan, Minneapolis, named Nicholas Hulwi an attorney in the firm's private wealth planning practice group. Hulwi was an attorney for the Internal Revenue Service and worked for Eide Bailly and Jux Law Firm.
