Lynx forward Rebekkah Brunson was named WNBA Western Conference player of the week for the second time this season.

Brunson had 16 points and 16 rebounds in a loss to Phoenix, 20 points in a victory at Indiana and 16 points and eight rebounds in a victory over Seattle. She leads the WNBA in rebounds (11.2 per game) and field goal percentage (.584) and has eight double-doubles.

Brunson, who is averaging 13.3 points per game, was the conference's player of the month in June and the first player of the week for games June 3-12.

Sylvia Fowles of Chicago was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

ALL-STAR SHOT

Based on all the honors Brunson is compiling and her stats, the chances of her being picked as one of the six reserves the all-star team by Western Conference coaches seem pretty good. The players chosen will be announced during the Chicago vs. Seattle game on ESPN2 on Tuesday night.

Brunson and guard Lindsay Whalen were on a WNBA all-star team last season that played Team USA, which had Maya Moore.

Asked her reaction if she were named to the all-star team again, Brunson said, it would be great.

"[Recognition] definitely comes with winning," Brunson said. "We are doing our part theer. We are all going out and playing as hard as we can. And we have a lot of talent on this team. It will be exciting to get as many Lynx in there as we can."

Moore, as a rookie, was chosen by fan balloting to start for the Western Conference all-stars. Brunson is among several other Lynx starters who could make the team as reserves.
