Brooklyn Park police are asking for the public's help in finding a missing 89-year-old man who suffers from Alzheimer's disease.
Sylvester Smith was last seen inside his home in the 6600 block of Cherokee Lane N. at 4 a.m. Saturday. When family members awoke at 7 a.m., he was missing, and they believe he wandered away from the home, police said.
Smith is sociable but isn't familiar with the neighborhood, police said. Officers have been searching the neighborhood. He's described as a light-skinned black man, 5 feet 4, 130 pounds, last seen wearing gray sweatpants and a white zip-up T-shirt.
