From the Associated Press:
Baltimore Ravens cornerback Tray Walker died Friday of injuries he sustained in a dirt bike crash in Miami.
The 23-year-old Walker played one season in the NFL. The Ravens say his godmother confirmed "that he had passed."
Miami-Dade Police say Walker was riding a Honda dirt bike with no lights and wearing dark clothing when he collided with a Ford Escape on Thursday night.
He was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
A fourth-round 2015 draft pick, Walker played in eight games last season, mostly on special teams.
Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was a high school teammate of Walker. They, along with Oakland receiver Amari Cooper, attended Miami Northwestern High School.
Shortly after Walker's death was announced, Bridgewater took to Instagram to post his condolences.
Today we lost more than an athlete, we lost a son, a brother, a teammate, a classmate, a friend, and a GREAT person. You proved that something positive can come out of Miami Northwestern and off of 71st Street. You were loved by many in the community and looked upon as a role model. It's saddens me today knowing you were just scratching the surface and about to reach your full potential, but I know we serve a Mighty God who sits high and looks low and he has a plan for us all to prosper. Continue to watch over your family, teammates and loved ones. RIP Tray aka FreshKid. My condolences to the Walker family.
The Vikings and many other teams and players around the NFL expresed their thoughts as well.
