It was an uneventful third period in Friday's first Class 1A semifinal, and that suited Breck just fine. The Mustangs had done all the work they needed to do and coasted through the final 17 minutes to a 5-1 victory over South St. Paul and a berth in tomorrow's Class 1A girls' hockey state title game.

Breck will face the winner of the matchup between Warroad and Alexandria, set to get underway shortly. Warroad has been dominant all season and is certainly considered the favorite in this semifinal matchup. Should Breck and Warroad end up playing for the state title, South St. Paul coach Dave Palmquist said, "I expect it to be a great game."

But Warroad has to get there first. We'll see shortly if that happens.
