Technically, the spring state tournament season began May 14 with the badminton state tournament, which culminated with St. Paul Johnson sweeping the team, singles and doubles championships.

A week later, Wayzata won its 12th consecutive synchronized swimming state title, making the Trojans a sorely under-recognized dynasty.

Saturday, Robbinsdale/Hopkins/Mound-Westonka won the PI Division title and St. Cloud Area won the CI Division at the adapted softball state tournament.
