BOYS' SWIMMING
Three story lines
1. Wildcats looking to retain state form
With a shocking performance in 2015, Eagan put an end to the Lake Conference's dominance in the state meet. The Wildcats won the Class 2A championship without an individual champion, and have their sights set on repeating. The Lake had won the previous seven team titles. "Many of the boys spent the offseason preparing for another run at the title. I can assure you that we are going after it," Wildcats coach Chris Morgan said.
2. No stopping St. Thomas Academy
The Cadets are looking for their fifth consecutive Class 1A championship for the second time in school history. They also won five crowns in a row from 1999-2003. Add in four consecutive titles between those two runs (2005-08) and you have sheer dominance.
3. Partly operating as a cooperative
Chanhassen and Chaska are still operating as a cooperative program for the dual meet season. They will revert to separate schools come section tournament time, with Chaska moving from Class 1A to Class 2A at that point of the season.
