When: Tuesday and Wednesday

Where: Class 3A at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids; Class 2A at Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan; Class 1A at Pebble Creek in Becker.

What: First round on Tuesday and final round on Wednesday. The boys tee off at 7:30 a.m., with the girls to follow at noon on both days.

Class 3A

New Prague won't have last year's 3A girls' golf state champion, Kenzie Neisen, who won the Big 12 championship this year at Oklahoma State, but it has another rising golfer who could win state this week. Junior Taylor Ledwein is one of two top-10 medal winners returning to state from last year. She tied for sixth, while Edina junior Hannah Hankinson tied for 10th. Ledwein was ranked second this season in Class 3A, averaging just over 73 per round.

The defending champs return to state for both the boys and girls' teams.

The Edina boys' team has five golfers with tournament experience; the team broke the state record for team score last year. Edina senior Sam Foust finished as a runner-up among individuals last year. The Wayzata girls' team returns with four of its six players with experience.

Class 2A

The Breck girls' team is one of five returning to state that will look to topple three-time defending team champion Detroit Lakes and three-time defending individual champion Kate Smith. If Smith wins another individual title this year, she will become just the second golfer in state history to win four consecutive individual titles. For the boys, two of the three co-champions return in Staples-Motley junior Andrew Israelson and Mankato East junior Carter Haley. Blake is the only returning boys' team; the Bears finished third last year.

Class 1A

Mounds Park Academy freshman Brock Bliese returns as the defending boys' Class 1A individual champion. Dawson-Boyd will make a bid to defend its boys' team title with five experienced golfers on the squad. Legacy Christian Academy's girls' team is the two-time defending team champion and returns with six golfers with tournament experience.
