A number of mock drafts have predicted the Vikings will take Da'Quan Bowers with the 12th overall pick, and the Clemson defensive end reportedly visited Winter Park on Monday.

That gave the Vikings a chance to exam Bowers right knee. The condition of his knee continues to produce conflicting reports, which has made his stock fluctuate in mock drafts.

Bowers had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in January. But several reports have emerged the past few weeks that indicate Bowers knee injury could have more serious long-term implications, including possible microfracture surgery.

Bowers had his knee re-examined in Indianapolis last week with the results distributed to all 32 teams. ProFootballTalk had a story Tuesday night that cited three different reports that said his checkup didn't produce positive results and that Bowers' knee raises serious red flags for teams.

Bowers agent Joseph Flanagan issued a lengthy statement to PFT in response to those reports.

It will be interesting to see where Bowers ends up on draft day. He would be a Top 10 pick if there was no medical issue. But now? And if he's still on the board when the Vikings select at No. 12 will they take him?

More visits

A few more visits to update you on. National Football Post reports that Illinois linebacker Martez Wilson and Miami offensive tackle Orlando Franklin have visited the Vikings. Those visits presumably took place during the team's Top 30 visit last week.

Meanwhile, NFP also reports that Colorado offensive tackle Nate Solder is scheduled to conduct a private workout for the Vikings on Friday. Solder is visiting the Washington Redskins today.
