"The Story of My Teeth," by Valeria Luiselli. What a bizarre work: a post-meta "novel" of suggestive narratives in collaboration with workers at a factory. It questions the genesis of art and the validity of narrative. Finding it both maddeningly abstruse and revelatory, I was baffled and angry with it, though at times in deep, layered love. – Doug, McNally-Jackson Bookstore, New York.
