EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Bones found along the Eau Claire River have been determined to be human.

Authorities are working to identify the bones found by kayakers Saturday west of Big Falls County Park in the town of Seymour. Eau Claire Sheriff Mike Mayer says an anthropologist in Dane County has determined the remains are a pelvis and vertebra bone.

Cramer tells the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram (http://bit.ly/1ad9Anr ) the bones may belong to a 21-year-old drowning victim from 2001. A witness saw Va Lee go underwater at Big Falls, but his remains were never found. Cramer says his family has been notified of the possibility.

More tests are being done on the bones.
