Emergency workers recovered a body Monday afternoon from a New Brighton lake, a few miles from where search crews have looked for a missing Mounds View man.

Henry McCabe, 32, was last seen Labor Day and has not been in contact with his family or his employer, the Minnesota Department of Revenue.

In September, searchers scoured Creekview Park in New Brighton and nearby areas. The park was the location of the last call placed from McCabe's cellphone. His wife answered that call, at 2:28 a.m. on Labor Day, to hear what sounded like moaning and screams.

In a statement Monday night, New Brighton police said they were called about 4:30 p.m. to Rush Lake, where a kayaker reported seeing a body in the water. The Ramsey County Sheriff's Office Water Patrol was called to help with the recovery of the body.

Police were not able to identify the victim's age, race or sex. The body was sent to the Ramsey County medical examiners office.
