A boater on the St. Croix River discovered a body floating near shore in Scandia on Saturday night.
The body was found about 6 p.m., and "at this time the cause of death is unknown," the Washington County Sheriff's Office said.
Investigators determined it was a woman's body after responding to the boater's 911 call, the Sheriff's Office said.
The Chisago County Sheriff's Office and the Ramsey County medical examiner's office also are investigating.
