Twin Cities authorities are investigating two deaths in separate incidents.

Ramsey County sheriff's officials said a body that washed ashore near Harriet Island was recovered about 2:15 p.m. Thursday. The body is believed to be that of an adult but the gender has not been released, said spokesman John Eastham.

The Ramsey County medical examiner will release the person's identity and official cause of death.

Meanwhile, Brooklyn Park police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found about 10:15 a.m. Thursday in a townhouse on the 7300 block of 72nd Lane.

"The circumstances surrounding the death have raised concerns," police said in a statement.

Brooklyn Park detectives, the Hennepin County medical examiner and the Hennepin County Sheriff's crime lab are investigating.
