'Two/Too'

Twin Cities artists Ta-coumba Aiken and Leslie Barlow come together for this intergenerational exhibition at Artistry. An activist, Aiken creates art to heal people and communities. His intricate canvases are inspired by African designs and his concept of "rhythm pattern," or making a line and repeating it over and over again. Barlow's paintings have a similar bent toward healing, but they are representational. In this show she has several familiar familial works from her series "Loving" — paintings of interracial couples — as well as new work that combines photography, painting and quilting. (Opening reception 6-8 p.m. today. 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Mon.-Fri.; 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sat.; 1-10 p.m. Sun. Ends Aug. 2. 1800 W. Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington. Free. 952-563-8575, artistrymn.org.)

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
