Holli Pahlen was instantly attracted to this riverside homage to 1950s kitsch and bought it three years ago.
"I loved the craziness of the materials and the design," she said.
The previous owner, a fan of 1950s decor, custom-built the two-story home in 1989 on the Apple River near Somerset, Wis. The funky interior is a fusion of bubble-gum pink and cherry-red furnishings, chrome accents and stacks of vintage glass blocks.

Currently she is renting the river home for weekend getaways. "I just got a dock last week, and that's included in the sale, too," she said.
