Blaine woman found dead on University Av. late Friday

Driver told police he hit something, 'possibly a person'

A 71-year-old Blaine woman was found dead late Friday after a Brooklyn Park man notified police that he had hit something, "possibly a person," while driving to work in Coon Rapids.

Police were called about 11:30 p.m. Friday. The driver, a 32-year-old man, told police that the accident occurred as he was heading south on University Avenue near the intersection of 106th Avenue NE., according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.

The victim has not yet been publicly identified. Officials said the accident is under investigation.
