FORT MYERS, FLA. -- Checked in with Michael Cuddyer this morning, and he said there's really no update on his left foot.

He's treating a wart with a specialized cream, so it's a waiting process, and Cuddyer is miserable not being able to play in these spring training games. For now, Cuddyer doesn't even want to think about the alternative -- having the wart removed -- because that would put him out for weeks.

No details yet on Justin Morneau's plans to see a doctor for clearance to play in games. He was in the batting cage early this morning over at Twins camp, but he's not on this short trip across town to play the Red Sox at City of Palms Park.

Nick Blackburn will start for the Twins today, followed by Kevin Slowey. Glen Perkins, Anthony Slama, Jim Hoey, Deolis Guerra, David Bromberg, Eric Hacker and Kyle Waldrop are also on the list to pitch.

>The Twins announced that the 14 black spruce trees that were part of the batter's eye at Target Field have been relocated to Bergen's Greenhouse in Forest Lake.

>Chris Parmalee had a good first game, Sunday, filling in for Morneau at first base. Parmalee went 2-for-2 with a double and made a nice diving play. The Twins added Parmalee to the 40-man roster this winter, and he's building off the success he had in 2010, when he reached Class AA.

"He's a guy who really matured a lot over the last year," Manager Ron Gardenhire said. "He's really worked hard on his fundamentals at first base. We know the swing is there. He's got power, he can pop a baseball, but it's all the other parts of his game. He can play the outfield, and he can play the infield ... he's got an arm."
