While he and bandmate Patrick Carney will be here for a good stretch next week around their two sold-out shows at First Ave, Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach happily recalled the time he has already spent in the Twin Cities. Without any coaching, the leader of the Ohio-bred blues/fuzz-rock duo immediately recalled dropping some cash at Hymie's Records during one visit. And he had plenty to say about Willie's Guitars in St. Paul, an outtake from an interview slated to run in Sunday's Variety A+E:

"For a while there, I think I had [Willie's] on speed-dial. I actually bought a Fender VI there, which is like a baritone guitar. We used it on the record we did with Danger Mouse. We were like, "God, we gotta get this," so Pat and I split the cost. Now we each have joint custody over it."
