Beugen named new school board member The Robbinsdale school board has chosen a new member -- Jonas Beugen -- to replace outgoing board member Paul Magnuson. Magnuson announced his resignation in mid-term last June because his family planned to move to Switzerland.
Beugen, 37, is principal of the Northeast Metro 916 Intermediate School District Area Learning Centers in Columbia Heights and Little Canada. He is a former Robbinsdale district student and teacher. He lives in Crystal with his wife and three children.
Beugen was among eight candidates who applied for the vacant board seat. He will begin his board duties this month.
