You may have noticed a message on these pages for a while now that I have been on "medical leave." To clear up the mystery, early last summer I was diagnosed with cancer. After successful surgery, chemo and radiation treatments, my prognosis is good. Working from home, I've been able to contribute cartoons on a sporadic basis. I'm pleased to report that beginning in January I will be returning to the office, and hopefully it will not be long before I am fully up to speed. I want to thank you (and the Star Tribune) for your patience with my lengthy recovery. And I send a special appreciation to the many readers who sent me letters, calls and e-mails of support. You're the best!
