Yes, Kyatchi emphasizes sushi, as well as a handful of beautifully rendered noodle dishes. But this Kingfield newcomer more than hints at Japan's baseball obsession with a trio of cleverly garnished hot dogs. The all-beef, snappy-skinned sausages have a lot more umph than your average ballpark frank, and chef Hide Tozawa dresses them up in style: meticulously chopped vegetables with a squirt of umami-laden Kewpie mayo, a crunchy slaw dressed in a vibrant curry sauce and a creamy chopped egg-avocado combo that will have you wondering why you've never thought to do the same thing. They're priced a tad higher than your average street vendor dog — $8 and $9 — but worth it. 3758 Nicollet Av. S., Mpls.; 612-236-4429; kyatchi.com
