Never tire of this one. From 1954:

That's Paul Jacobsen, one of the Tribune's "Walking Information Booths." pausing to give directions. He was dressed in a blue and yellow uniform, with a sign tethered to his hat. Want to bet how many times juvenile delinquents threw things at the sign?

I've checked the basement, and haven't found any of these signs. Pity. I'm off to the Fair now, and would love to wear one of these, if only to put on an irritated expression and bark "why are you asking me?"

See you there. I'll be the short guy in the black T-shirt without the circular sign attached to a pity helmet.

(The other folks, by the way, have caps advertising the "New Seaman Tillers," so I'm guessing they just came from Machinery Hill.)
