Baseball state tournament: Class 1A quarterfinals

Come-from-behind victories by Hinckley-Finlayson and Parkers Prairie on Thursday highlighted the Class 1A quarterfinals at Chaska Athletic Park.

Hinckley-Finlayson scored twice in the seventh and once in the eighth to outlast Legacy Christian 4-3.

The Jaguars were down to their final out before tying the game on a single by Connor Olson and a throwing error. The Jaguars broke the tie on a sacrifice fly by Travis Visser.

The Lions led 3-1 on Josh Niessen's RBI double and two sacrifice flys by Ethan Mocchi.

Parkers Prairie 3, Badger-Greenbush- Middle River 2: The Panthers scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull out the victory. Winning pitcher Andrew Johnson started the comeback with a triple and scored on Casey Peterson's single. With two outs, Peterson scored on Matt Ferley's double, and Zach Gappa's single scored Ferley.

Adrian 1, Ely 0: The Dragons' Logan Rogers outdueled the Timberwolves' Pat Huisman. Each team had just three hits.

Springfield 12, Lewiston-Altura 2: Branden Fleck gave up only one hit and drove in three runs to fuel a five-inning victory for Springfield.
