Barbara Walters and Janice Dickinson certainly know how to rile up Kardashian detractors.

Appearing Tuesday on CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," Walters was trumpeting her 90-minute ABC special, "Most Fascinating People of 2011," airing on KSTP-TV in the Twin Cities at 8:30 tonight.

Letterman wasn't much fascinated with a couple of figures on tonight's show, either, but when Walters asked Letterman if he liked the Kardashians, he ultimately averred: "I'm going to do you a favor, I'm taking them off the list." He scratched through their name on the piece of paper he was holding.

Letterman has been making Kim Kardashian the butt of jokes since she filed for divorced from Minnesotan Kris Humphries after 72 days (the unsuspecting Minnesota boy foolishly assumed Kim was marrying for love and life). Letterman has quipped that he's had bad reactions to Viagra that lasted longer.

But the biggest putdown of the entertaining yet talent-less family came from Walters herself.

After shooting the first "fascinating" interview in September with the Kartrashyuns, Walters inquired about whether anything big might coming up before this piece aired in December.

"'No no no, you can do it now because nothing's going to happen,'" Walters said she was told. Then Walters bemoaned Kim's divorce of Kris and Kourtney Kardashian getting pregnant with her second baby with her boyfriend, Scott Disick.

"You cannot trust the Kardashians," Walters told Letterman in a confidential tone. I'm sure she intended that as humor. But it's looking spot on.

Not even on "The View," the daytime talker Walters created, could the media legend find an audience receptive to her inclusion of "the Kardashian family" among her most fascinating. The mere mention of their name elicited boos today from her audience.

And the Kartrashyun piling on continues...

Life & Style magazine -- the one with a cover story alleging Kim had a revenge romance with old flame Reggie Bush, the NFLer she wanted to marry before she suckered her unsuspecting NBAer -- spills the beans on why Humphries is seeking an annulment on the grounds of "fraud." It claims Kris believes Kim hid money from him.

"She failed to mention all the sources of money she made from the [televised] wedding," the magazine quotes one Humphries camp source as saying. And "She didn't disclose her full income in her pre-nup. That justifies his wanting an annulment based on fraud."

I'm hearing that Humphries might have been paid a figure well under $1,000 for the wedding, even though Kim is suspected of making millions.

If Humphries' Minneapolis/LA legal team is actually uncovering examples of fraud, the pre-nup signed by Kris and Kim could be invalidated.

With the Kardashian image already in tatters, the last thing the family needs is a trial confirming that they or Kim perpetrated a fraud on Humphries. Not being entirely stupid people, the Kardashians will probably pay Humphries major millions to avoid a trial, although if deposition testimony (which won't be overseen by a judge saying where Humphries lawyers can fish) winds up on TMZ...

Oh, what am I saying? That probably won't happen because the Kardashians wouldn't leak unflattering information about themselves. And the Humphries camp was not full of TMZ fans even before TMZ staffers likened Kris' catatonic "Good Morning America" appearance to Lennie Small in John Steinbeck's "Of Mice and Men."

I have no idea why Humphries seemed so shellshocked over questions from Josh Elliott when he was on GMA. There weren't even any particularly pointed questions. Elliott looked like a journalistic welterweight by failing to ask even one question about the "fraud" allegation in Humphries annulment request. The interview couldn't have been fluffier.

On the other hand, former supermodel and reality TV star Janice Dickinson, has an attitude like a sledge hammer when it comes to the Kardashians.

In a screed to be published by Star magazine (the video is up on Radaronline.com), Dickinson laid into Kim Kardashian:

"I'm mad. She's a fraud. She's a hoax. It's about time for the U.S. public to just remember [by watching Kim's two-night fairytale marriage special]. you're endorsing a fake marriage: $18 million. That fake sham marriage was disgusting because they did it for money."

Dickinson was apparently venting because she's been repeatedly snubbed by Kim.

According to Dickinson, she and Kim frequent the same Los Angeles area nail salon. "She never said hello to me once. I always said 'Hello. How are you?' It was only [after] I did 'Good Morning America' -- she didn't get a dressing room because I was in it -- her mother made her go up and say hello to me.

"I just looked at her and said, 'Are you serious? I wouldn't say hello to her. She's fake and you're fake,' and I walked away," Janice said, illustrating how she pointed at Kim and her momanger, Kris Jenner.

Lord only knows if this really happened anywhere but inside Dickinson's head. But it just goes to show that the backlash against the Kardashian is not subsiding and they probably won't make Walters 2012 list of fascinating people.

So, tonight we can watch Walters' special to see if Kris Humphries gets the nod as Walters' most fascinating person of the year. She'll announce the big winner on tonight's show.

Humphries is an astronomical long shot, of course. But if these whiny, insipid, vapid Kardashian vulgarians are actually fascinating, anything's possible.
