Michelle Bachmann raised $1.7 million for her presidential bid in the fourth quarter last year, but her campaign was left with $447,040 in reported debt just days before the Iowa Caucus.

Bachmann also had $358,724 in cash on hand, leaving her $88,000 in the hole, according to a press release her campaign issued today. Her year-end report was filed with the Federal Election Commission today, but was not yet available online.

In the release from her campaign she had 24,825 contributors who gave 34,872 contributions. Her average contribution was $49.22.

"We are so thankful for all the support from donors across the country, and are especially proud of the large number of contributions from small donors," said her presidential campaign manager Keith Nahigian.

The fourth quarter reports are due today and reflect fundraising from October to December. Bachmann finished 6th in the Jan. 3 caucus and ended her campaign the following day. She has said she plans to seek re-election to a fourth term in Congress this fall.
