Rep. Michele Bachmann's campaign took a shot at Democratic challenger Tarryl Clark yesterday for casting the deciding vote on a tax increase in the Minnesota House this week, the latest in a series of GOP jabs aimed at who they are calling "Taxin' Tarryl Clark."

"While Michele has a record of fighting for lower taxes, reducing government spending and ensuring that Minnesotans have the tools they need to succeed, "Taxin'" Tarryl Clark has had a career of voting for tax increases that would hit families and small businesses the hardest," read the statement to supporters.

The message asked people to volunteer their time and money to stop "another tax-and-spend liberal" from heading to Washington.

Clark's vote likely won't help her win over the right-leaning Sixth District this fall, and could perservere as a GOP talking point as the race heats up.

Beyond just a campaign missive, the knock at Clark is also a rare aknowledgement from the Bachmann team of the state representative's mere presence in the campaign. Bachmann normally bows only to what she deems is a Nancy Pelosi-coordinated team of Democrats looking to unseat her, rather than Clark herself.
