In case the Republicans in Tampa next month thought they had enough on their hands with U.S. Rep. Ron Paul and his libertarian followers… Now this:
U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann is scheduled to join fellow former GOP presidential hopeful Herman Cain as a speaker at a “Unity” Tea Party rally at the Republican National Convention.
The event is being promoted as a way for “like-minded organizations” to set aside rivalries and disagreements. But it also promises to lay down a marker to the GOP, with organizers telling potential supporters that “we have to show the Republican Party that the only way they can connect with the American people is through the Tea Party.”
In addition to Bachmann and Cain, other speakers include Judson Phillips of the Tea Party Nation and Dustin Stockton of The Tea Party.net.
