Bruce Abas adapts, directs and stars in this stage version of F. Scott Fitzgerald's 1930 short story about an American in Paris. Charlie Wales (Abas) has come to the City of Lights to get his daughter, Honoria (Bijou Abas), who is living with his deceased wife's sister and her husband. But Charlie has a history of carousing and irresponsibility that won't let him go. Abas uses a four-person Greek chorus to narrate this stylized show, which is not a tragedy. The subject matter, of a father wanting to be in his daughter's life, is a perennial one, even if there's some coldness and reserve in this good-looking production.
