The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating two fatal car crashes that occurred a little over an hour apart in Chisago County early Friday morning.

At around 1:45 a.m., Micheal Quigley, 64, of East Bethel was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe south on Interstate 35 when he exited onto Viking Boulevard and fatally struck pedestrian Kory Klein, 32, of Hugo.

The State Patrol said there was alcohol in Klein's system. Quigley was not injured.

Roughly an hour later, Riley Hoff-Larocca, 26, of Taylors Falls was driving north on Highway 95 when he crossed into southbound lanes, drove through a roundabout and rolled his Nissan.

Alcohol was not involved in the crash, according to the State Patrol. Hoff-Larocca was not wearing a seat belt.
