Authorities identified the two people killed in a head-on crash Tuesday in Anoka County as Genie Ann Mohr, 73, of Columbus, and Curtis Durand, 64, of Mound.

Mohr was headed west in a pickup on the 20000 block of NE. Viking Boulevard in Linwood Township at 8:47 a.m. when she allegedly veered over the centerline and collided with an eastbound SUV driven by Durand. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

A witness to the crash, Thomas Rush, 35, of Grandy, stopped to help and was able to pull a 3-year-old girl from the pickup truck that had burst into flames. The girl suffered minor injuries, said Cmdr. Paul Sommer, a spokesman for the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.

The child's name was not released, but she was identified as Mohr's great-granddaughter, officials said.

The Sheriff's Office and the State Patrol are investigating and were doing a reconstruction of the crash, Sommer said.
