Authorities have identified the 19-year-old shot and killed inside a Bloomington apartment on Thursday as Corey Preston Elder.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner says Elder died from wounds to his head and neck.

Six people have been arrested, but authorities said Sunday they were not ready to say who fired the fatal shot.

Suspects in custody include a 20-year-old man and 19-year-old woman from Lakeville, a 20-year-old woman from Prior Lake and a 33-year-old man from Minneapolis, police said Saturday.

Bloomington Deputy Police Chief Denis Otterness said his department is "not at this point" prepared to declare who pulled the trigger.

Officers were called to the Hampshire Hill Apartments off Hampshire Avenue and Old Shakopee Road about 10:45 p.m. Thursday. They found the man dead inside one of the apartments from a gunshot, Otterness said.

Otterness said police don't believe the shooting was a random act.

The Star Tribune generally does not identify suspects before they are charged.
