Augustus signs contract extension with Lynx

The Lynx continue to keep the core of its successful group together. In her eighth season, Seimone Augustus holds career averages of 18.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.

Lynx guard/forward Seimone Augustus has just signed a multi-yearcontract extension.The length and terms of the deal were not disclosed.

According to the WNBA's collective bargaining agreement, the maximum salary for this season for a player is $107,000.

"We are thrilled to have extended the contract of one of the league's premier scorers and a cornerstone for our franchise over the last eight years," Lynx executive vice president Roger Griffith said.

In her eighth season Augustus holds career averages of 18.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. This season she is averaging 16.3 points on a career-best 51.6 percent shooting.

The Lynx finish the regular season with a game against Eastern Conference-leading Chicago Saturday night at Target Center.
