Guard Seimone Augustus, who has missed the past three games because of soreness in her left knee, said she will return to the lineup Friday when the Lynx play host to New York.

Augustus, who is only 22 points shy of 5,000 for her career, said the knee problem that forced her out wasn't a result of wear and tear but a reaction to a routine medical procedure.

"I got an annual medical injection that I normally do and it reacted a bit differently," she said. "They wanted to let everything calm down and make sure everything was OK. My time has come and I have to get back on the court."

Augustus joked that the team has played so well recently, perhaps she should sit out longer.

"They're grooving right now," she said.

"When I saw them play San Antonio and [Whalen] threw that alley-oop to Maya, I thought maybe I should just continue to watch and let them groove."
