A 62-year-old motorcyclist from Wisconsin was killed Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on Hwy. 61 near Kellogg, Minn.

Killed was Randall J. Beers of Onalaska, Wis., the State Patrol said Saturday night. It happened at the intersection of Hwy. 61 and Wabasha County Road 42 about 4:45 p.m.

Thousands of motorcyclists were traveling along Hwy. 61 on Saturday as part of the 51st annual Spring Flood Run, a fundraiser for Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare of St. Paul. The route runs from the Twin Cities to Winona on both the Minnesota and Wisconsin sides of the river.

According to the State Patrol, an eastbound car waiting to turn on to Hwy. 61 collided with the southbound motorcycle. The two people in the car had no apparent injury, and the motorcycle's passenger had an injury that was not considered life-threatening, the patrol said.

A Mayo Clinic helicopter was called to the scene, as were crews from Wabasha, Kellogg and the Wabasha County Sheriff's Office.
