Workshop focuses on 'Wine and Designs'

A one-evening workshop at the Lakeville Area Arts Center will let participants enjoy wine tastings while they paint.

An instructor will walk attendees through painting the featured artwork step-by-step. The $35 cost includes supplies and two glasses of wine.

Oliver! takes stage at Area Arts Center

The Play's the Thing Productions will present "Oliver!" based on Charles Dickens' famous novel, today and next Sunday as well as Friday and Saturday at the Lakeville Area Arts Center.

Choir to perform 'Sights and Stories'

The choir Eagan Women of Note will perform "Sights and Stories" on May 17 at Peace Church, 2180 Glory Dr., Eagan.

The 4 p.m. concert will feature "melodies and images that appeal to one's inner child," according to a news release about the event. Tickets are $5. They can be purchased from choir members or at the door. There will also be a raffle for a basket of children's books.

Handbell ensemble concert today

The Bells of the Bluffs Handbell Ensemble, a group that includes ringers from Hastings and Hampton, will play a spring concert today in Bloomington.

The program, "Handbell Musical Montage," will use handbells, handchimes and a bass note percussion system. The group will play more than a dozen songs, including "Peal con Brio," "Song of Peace," "Good Vibrations," and "Down by the Riverside." The concert begins at 4 p.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 1701 W. Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington.
