A free figure-skating clinic hosted by a local club will be held Wednesday at the Burnsville Ice Center.

The Burnsville-Minnesota Valley Figure Skating Club will offer the workshop, which will include instruction, exhibitions by club skaters, treats and prizes, from 5:30 to 6:20 p.m. at the ice center, 251 Civic Center Pkwy.

The club has more than 70 members from across the south-metro area. It also has a junior club for less-experienced skaters who want to work individually with professionals; a synchronized skating team, and a senior club. Club members compete locally, nationally and internationally.

The free clinic is in recognition of the 10th annual "National Skating Month."
