Opening: Minneapolis-based painter Todd Norsten is a connoisseur of nearly invisible ephemera: fingerprints, dust, smudges, a rip or tiny tear. His photos record such near-to-vanishing stuff as worn signs and billboards, random blemishes in shabby paint, the general decay of life as we know it. In his new show, Norsten features photos and recent paintings of meticulously rendered, enigmatic grids, tiny triangles, odd lettering and strange signs. In an unsettled world of constant flux and existential uncertainty, "there are just trace elements of our existence," he claims. And so it goes. (Opening 6-8 p.m. Fri., free.
