Directed: The Intersection of Book, Film and Visual Narrative
Opening Friday: This ambitious international show, featuring multimedia work (video, film, books) by more than 70 artists, will serve as the centerpiece of the Minnesota Center for Book Arts' 2013 Book Art Biennial. The interplay among media will be evident in moving images whose stories unfold like book narratives, and in artists' books that employ swuch cinematic techniques as close-ups, flashbacks, slow motion and even "split screens." Walker Art Center will loan pieces by Ed Ruscha, Marcel Broodthaers, John Baldessari, Andy Warhol, Christian Boltanski and other top-flight artists.
