Since opening in March, Cult Status Gallery has found infamy because of the controversial Deuce Seven mural it was forced to remove from its exterior, and from its inaugural show, "Equinox," in which the gallery was covered floor-to-ceiling with graffiti murals. Now, the gallery is going a slightly more traditional route, showcasing the work of five up-and-coming female Twin Cities artists: J.M. Culver, Louisa Greenstock, Gina Louise, Kara Hendershot and gallery owner Erin Sayer. But don't expect flower or cat paintings from this group. Greenstock is known for her colorful punk-meets-street art portraits, while Sayer's paintings find an edge by using metal sheets as a canvas. Next up for the gallery, look for a return to full-on titillation with the BDSM- and sexual art-inspired "Peep Show" in July.
