Freshman Mason Hoffer kicked a 38-yard field goal in overtime to lift host Bemidji State to a 31-28 come-from-behind victory over Northern State in an NSIC game on Saturday.

Hoffer's kick — his first field-goal attempt of the season — came after the Beavers (5-1, 2-0 NSIC) stopped the Wolves on downs.

The Beavers had scored with 17 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to force the overtime. Tahi Nomane's 2-yard touchdown run capped a nine-play, 49-yard drive.

The Beavers, who trailed 14-0 after the first quarter and 14-7 at halftime, rallied behind sophomore quarterback Nick Mehlum, who was making his first career start. His 19-yard TD pass to Blake Holder helped Bemidji State take a 21-20 lead with 11:38 to go.

The Wolves (3-3, 1-1) scored with seven minutes remaining to take a 28-21 lead.

Minnesota State Mankato 45, Concordia (St. Paul) 10: Erik Fuller and Shane Zylstra each caught two TD passes to highlight the Mavericks' victory over the visiting Golden Bears. Virgil Hammond rushed for 115 yards for the Mavericks (4-2, 1-1 NSIC), who outgained Concordia (2-4, 0-2) 484-254.

Minnesota Duluth 38, Minot State 7: Drew Bauer passed for 243 yards and a touchdown and ran for another score as the Bulldogs (5-1, 2-0) beat the host Beavers.

Augustana 44, Wayne State (Neb.) 31: Trey Heid threw for 310 yards and four TDs as the Vikings beat the host Wildcats. Heid, a Lakeville North product, became Augustana's all-time leader with 9,728 passing yards.

Minnesota State Moorhead 41, Minnesota-Crookston 12: Damon Gibson caught four touchdown passes — his only four receptions of the game — from Demetrius Carr as the host Dragons beat the Golden Eagles. Gibson scored on TDs of 29, 46, 19 and 46 yards.

Sioux Falls 48, Southwest Minnesota State 28: Max Mickey ran for 156 yards and three touchdowns and Justin Fulks rushed for 140 yards and two TDs to help the host Cougars, ranked No. 7 by d2football.com, run past the Mustangs.

St. Cloud State 41, Mary 7: Nate Meyer passed for 243 yards and three touchdowns and ran for two more to lead the Huskies (3-3, 2-0 NSIC North) past the Marauders in Bismarck, N.D.

Winona State 27, Upper Iowa 13: The Warriors intercepted three passes and returned a blocked punt for a TD to earn the victory over the host Peacocks in Fayette, Iowa.

MacMurray 38, Northwestern (Roseville) 14: Chazz Middlebrook ran for 176 yards and two TDs as the visiting Highlanders beat the Eagles (5-1, 4-1 UMAC).

St. Scholastica 45, Iowa Wesleyan 7: Kyle Stepka threw five touchdown passes to lead the Saints to victory in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.

Macalester 17, Lawrence 7: Jacob Jones and Matthew Bonazelli each rushed for a TD as the conference-leading Scots (5-1, 4-0 Midwest) defeated the Vikings in St. Paul.
