The biggest question facing Wolves interim coach Sam Mitchell tonight has less to do with Xs and Os and more to do with aches and pains.

The Wolves won a stirring, double-overtime game in Washington Friday night. There were lots and lots of minutes for just about everyone involved; Gorgui Dieng played six seconds short of 40 minutes in that game, and he's the only starter under 40. Zach LaVine and Ricky Rubio each played 44½ minutes.

Utah, meanwhile, had the night off.

So the question is, how much gas is left in his team's tank for the back end of this back-to-back?

"I have no idea," Mitchell said. "I think for us, it's going to be, our guys just have to play. Just play as hard as they can for as long as they can.''

The Wolves are in position to win a third straight game for just the second time this season, and for the first time since November. It won't be easy; Utah enters the game in ninth in the Western Conference, in a virtual tie for the eighth spot with slumping Dallas. The Jazz will be motivated and rested both.

The Wolves? They might be tired.

"You can get surprised," Mitchell said. "You never know. We're going to coach the game like we always do, and our guys are really good about when they're tired, they ask to come out of the game. I don't have to worry about having to gauge if a guy is getting back or not or something like that. They'll tell you.''

Still, for a Wolves bench that has been up and down, much may be needed tonight. Nemanja Bjelica is coming off a 10-point game in Washington and Tyus Jones played well there, too. And now might be the time for Shabazz Muhammad to break out of a mini-slump.
